Dr. Lawrence Freedman
|I was born on July 4, 1962, third generation of my family to be born in Toronto. I am the middle child with an older brother and a younger sister. I am happily married and the proud father of my three year old son Jacob Bodhi and and newborn baby girl.
I attended the University of Toronto for my Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Genetics with a minor in Philosophy. I graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 1989. Upon graduation, I began working in the Annex area. Within a few years, I became very interested in pain disorders and started taking numerous courses to understand the etiology and treatment of facial pain. I am constantly educating myself in all aspects of dentistry but I have a special interest in alleviating pain disorders, TMJ problems, orthodontics, and full mouth rehabilitation.
In 2005, I received my fellowship and diplomate awards in the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. I am a founding member of the Canadian Chapter of the American Craniofacial Pain Association, and the Dental Services Group implant study club.
*Update June 2010:
After completing my studies at the American College of Integrative Dental Medicine I was awarded my Naturopathic Medical Doctor degree from the American Naturopathic Medical Association. I am now board certified for Integrative Biologic Dental Medicine.
